RICHMOND, Texas (KTRK) -- More than a year after a beloved Lamar CISD teacher was found dead in her Richmond home, her husband is now charged with her murder, according to court documents.
Records show Lamarcus Smith was indicted by a grand jury on Monday, accused of stabbing her to death at her home on Snowbell Court in May 2024.
The wife was found dead after her family asked for a welfare check at the time of the incident, according to authorities.
The Fort Bend County medical examiner's office, at the time, ruled her death a homicide, but did not disclose how she died or if there were any suspects.
At the time, neighbors told ABC13 that Lamarcus Smith most recently worked for Harris County Precinct 4.
