
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway after authorities say a person was hit and killed on Highway 90 inbound on Tuesday morning.
The Houston Police Department confirmed the fatality, saying a caller reported they had hit someone along Highway 90 near S. Post Oak Road at about 5:30 a.m. According to Houston TranStar, the incident was cleared at 9:30 a.m.
In an update, HPD said the driver of a blue Mercedes-Benz EQB hit the pedestrian and remained at the scene. At some point, SkyEye13 flew over the area, showing a vehicle with significant damage to its passenger side windshield.
Police said the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
It's unclear at this time what led to the incident, but authorities said the driver showed no signs of impairment.
