HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A 31-year-old man is accused of recording people on hidden cameras in a popular restaurant's bathroom, according to court documents.
Court records show that on Dec. 30, two videos were discovered from a hidden camera inside the bathroom of the Lupe Tortilla near Katy Freeway and Echo Lane. The videos showed a female child and a woman undressed, the records added.
It's alleged that the 31-year-old Lupe Tortilla employee, Bayson Elias Pu, hid those cameras in the bathroom. He was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 31, by the Hedwig Village Police Department and is now facing a felony for invasive visual recording.
On Friday, Lupe Tortilla said the recording device was found by one of its team members on Dec. 30, reportedly soon after its placement, and told management immediately.
Michelle Tortorice, the customer relations coordinator for Lupe Tortilla, sent this statement:
"Lupe Tortilla confirms that on December 30, 2025, a recording device placed in a restroom at one of its Houston-area locations was discovered by a restaurant staff member shortly after its placement. Restaurant management took immediate action by contacting local authorities.

Along with the statement, Tortorice provided a timeline of events according to Lupe Tortilla, including the team member finding the device on Dec. 30, Hedwig police being notified shortly after, and an individual being detained by police in connection with the investigation on Dec. 31.
Pu was granted a $150,000 bond, which he has since posted. Pu is scheduled to be back in court on Friday.
