Two men dead following shooting in west Houston, homicide investigation underway, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Two men are dead following a shooting in west Houston, the Houston Police Department said.

At about 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault that resulted in injury, HPD says.

They found an adult man with a gunshot wound. Officers performed CPR, and he was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

While still on the scene, HPD says they received a report of a second person shot near the bayou. That man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they believe the two incidents are connected and are conducting a homicide investigation.
