HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A handcuffed suspect was found in the Tomball area after escaping custody from Ben Taub Hospital on Friday, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Court documents say 27-year-old Carlos Molina Hernandez was first arrested for aggravated assault after pulling a gun on two people in the 9800 block of Berry Orchard Lane. Documents say he entered a residence and demanded money for previous work services while pointing a green handgun at the victims' faces and chests.

Records say the victims fled from the residence on foot, and officers later recovered the weapon on scene and confirmed it was a BB gun.

Documents say Hernandez was taken to Ben Taub Hospital after his arrest due to his level of intoxication and a minor injury. After being discharged, records show he was then put in the back of a patrol car, but the vehicle would not start. Documents state he escaped from custody at 4:46 p.m. on Friday after being allowed to use a restroom.

Records state that Hernandez fled on foot while handcuffed and made his way through a grassy area before reaching the intersection of Braeswood Boulevard and Moursun Street, where the officer lost sight of him. Additional units reportedly responded to assist in locating Hernandez but were not successful.

The sheriff's office says tips from the community helped them locate Hernandez.
