Facebook comment made about drowning victim sparks HFD probe

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The daughter of a drowning victim is upset with how the Houston Fire Department is handling comments posted by a firefighter about her dad.

HFD says Kerry Williams has been transferred to an administrative position pending the outcome of the investigation. A post on the EMT's Facebook page during the search referred to Victor Gonzalez as a "drunk Mexican."

Gonzalez's daughter Gracie Gonzalez says Williams should be fired.

"Suspended with pay? So he gets a little vacation right? That's just how I feel. You get paid just for making those comments. You get to sit back and take it easy while the whole investigation gets through," she said.

Gracie Gonzalez says she's also disappointed neither Williams nor anyone from HFD has called her.
