HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston police said they are searching for the driver responsible for hitting and killing a woman in southwest Houston.
Investigators said around 9 p.m. Saturday, they believe a driver ran a red light at the intersection of Beechnut and Gessner.
Sgt. Mike Barrow with HPD said after running the light, the driver hit and killed a woman crossing the street and then left the scene.
"When this individual, this suspect vehicle, was crossing the intersection, it struck the pedestrian first, then, while fleeing the scene, struck another vehicle," Sgt. Barrow said.
Officers said they are searching for a silver pickup truck with damage to its front.
If anyone knows anything about the case, they are asked to contact Houston police.
