Crash involving HPD cruiser, damaged Toyota shuts down lanes of Highway 6 near Westpark, HCSO says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway after a crash involving a Houston Police Department cruiser shut down several lanes of Highway 6 on Wednesday morning, according to officials.

The crash appeared to have happened on the overpass that crosses over the Westpark Toll Road.

ABC13 cameras captured what appears to be a damaged Toyota sedan and an HPD patrol vehicle in the middle of the road.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office has confirmed it is taking over the scene but has not confirmed what led to the incident or whether there were any fatalities.
