MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A former Republican congressional candidate, who was endorsed by the Montgomery County sheriff, is accused of strangling his wife.
Brett Jensen is facing a family violence charge.
According to court records, his wife told police he strangled her Sunday and that it was not the first time.
Jensen was handily defeated in the March primary, winning only 13% of the vote, in the 8th District, which includes portions of Montgomery, Harris, San Jacinto, and Polk counties.
Jensen's attorney says he's innocent.
ABC13 reached out to Jensen's attorney, who said he is innocent and issued the following statement:
"Mr. Jensen is entirely innocent of these allegations. He is a loving, supportive, and caring husband and father and I look forward to defending him in this matter."
