Bomb scare leads Crosby neighborhood to evacuate; homeowner accused of making false report: Pct. 3

CROSBY, Texas (KTRK) -- Deputies say an arrest was made after a bomb scare led some residents to evacuate from their homes in Crosby on Wednesday night.

According to Harris County Constable Precinct 3, a bomb squad responded to a home on Barrett Gables in the Newport neighborhood after they received a report of a bomb in a vehicle.

Deputies said they evacuated people within a 250-foot radius of that home before they eventually declared the area safe at about 11:30 p.m.

In a later update, Pct. 3 said a homeowner was arrested for making a false report and booked into the Harris County Jail.
