BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- A $2,000 reward is being offered for information on the identity of the driver suspected of hitting someone without stopping to help them last month, according to Baytown Crime Stoppers.

At around 2:45 a.m., on May 5, investigators said a late-2015 to 2023 model Dodge Charger hit someone in the 100 block of Williams Avenue.

Surveillance cameras caught the suspect, who investigators described as a medium to heavy-set woman, getting out of the car and checking on the victim before getting back into the car and leaving without calling for help.

The Baytown Police Department confirmed that the victim, 33-year-old Samuel Ybarra, was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries.

Crime Stoppers said the suspect's car sustained heavy damage near the front passenger side, including a broken headlight and a damaged front fender liner. Baytown PD said the woman took a car part from the scene after she fled.

The search remains ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 281-427-8477.
