3-year-old child killed in hit-and-run crash in west Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway after a young child was hit and killed by a driver in west Houston on Saturday evening, the Houston Police Department said.

While the details are limited, HPD did confirm that they responded to a crash involving a pedestrian at the 3500 block of Ocee Street.

Officials confirmed the child was three years old, and the driver responsible fled the scene before police arrived.

HPD did not indicate whether any other individuals were involved in the crash, and the incident is still under investigation.
