1 man dead in child custody dispute in NW Harris County, sheriff said

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- At least one man is dead following a deadly domestic disturbance dispute in northwest Harris County, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.

Thursday's shooting was reported at about 11 a.m. in the 11000 block of Tanglehead Court.

According to Gonzalez, Precinct 4 deputies were on-scene for a child custody dispute when one man walked out of the home and shot another man who was outside. The sheriff's office said a Pct. 4 deputy returned fire, hitting the suspect.

At least one of the men was pronounced dead.

No deputies were injured in the shooting.

SkyEye was also over the scene when deputies were placing someone in the back of a patrol car.

An investigation is ongoing into the case. Authorities are urging people to avoid the area at this time.
