DALLAS (KTRK) -- A large structure fire following a reported explosion at a Dallas apartment complex drew a massive response from first responders on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Dallas Police Department, the blaze was reported in the 400 block of East 9th Street in the Oak Cliff neighborhood.

City of Dallas authorities said that early reports indicate the fire may have been caused by an explosion, but that investigators were still working to confirm those details.
The third-alarm response brought nearly 100 firefighters to the scene to help contain the fire and protect nearby residents, officials said.
A person was reportedly hospitalized, but officials said that figure may change as crews continue searching the building and conduct their search and rescue efforts.

Images shot from over the fire response showed smoke rising into the sky from large piles of debris.
Police said that a family assistance center was established at a high school near the scene, and urged families to go there instead of the active fire scene to obtain assistance and information.
