Man charged in 18-year-old's shooting death at Cypress-area complex, sheriff says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- One person is dead and another is in custody after a shooting in the Cypress area on Wednesday, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Gonzalez said deputies responded to the Regency Park Apartment Homes in the 11300 block of Regency Green Drive and found a man dead with an apparent gunshot wound.

In an update on Thursday, the sheriff said the shooting victim had been identified as 18-year-old Anthony Perla.

The alleged shooter, identified as Christopher Jordan, was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, according to Gonzalez.

HCSO said Jordan was charged with Perla's murder.
