Wedding email flap makes Pinterest feel like 'overbearing mother'

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Pinterest is blushing more than a bride after it accidentally sent congratulation notices to hundreds of women who aren't getting married.

According to slate.com, the site sent an email blast Wednesday wishing the women the best in their upcoming marriages. The only problem is that many of the recipients were single.

The site sent the message to women who had pinned dresses or wedding paraphernalia, which included many women who were just interested in the subject.

Pinterest apologized in an email, saying it was sorry it came off like an "overbearing mother."
