Former Pearland ISD players meet on NFL field

NEW ORLEANS, LA -- A pair of former Pearland Oilers met on the NFL playing field Sunday afternoon in New Orleans and each put forth respectable performances.

Fozzy Whittaker, a 2007 graduate of Pearland, caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Cam Newton in the third quarter, helping the Panthers to a 41-10 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Unfortunately for the Saints, their punter, Thomas Morstead, a 2004 graduate of Pearland High School, spent more time on the field than he planned.
