Pandas at Smithsonian Zoo receive big cakes for their birthdays

Happy birthday to the pandas at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C.!

Pandas Bao Bao, Mei Xeing, Bei Bei and Tian Tian enjoyed tiered birthday cakes made by the zoo's nutrition department. "The tiers were made of frozen diluted juice and were dyed various colors using beet juice, carrot juice, apple juice and food dye," the zoo wrote on YouTube.

Zoo visitors watched as Mei Xeing and Bao Bao took a big bite out of the cakes. Bei Bei, born Aug. 22, 2015 is the youngest of the zoo's panda cubs, while Bao Bao was born on Aug. 23, 2013. Tian Tian, born Aug 27, 1997, is the oldest panda at the zoo, followed by Mei Xiang on July 22, 1998.
