HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The East End is getting ready to have a lot more spirit. In just a few months, doors will open at Houston vodka micro-distillery Our/Houston.

Our/Houston will join a network of distilleries worldwide which produces Our/Vodka, a global brand made from locally-sourced ingredients.

Our/Vodka is the brainchild of sa Caap and four entrepreneurs from Great Works in Sweden. Our/Vodka always looks the same, but each city gives its name and distinct character to the vodka.

Two Houstonians who are best known for producing many of Houston's biggest events, Omar Afra and Dutch Small are heading up the team behind Our/Houston. Afra and Small launched Free Press Summer Fest and the Day For Night festival.

"Launching Our/Houston is an exciting step for both Dutch and I," said Afra. "It gives us the chance to work and collaborate with creative people and interesting brands in the city that we love."

The vodka will be packaged in a clear bottle with a signature crown cap. Our/Houston will be smooth, with fruity notes and a natural sweetness.

Our/Houston will be located on Lamar near Hutchins.

"I am really in love with this project. I've donated so many thousands of hours working with local non-profits and supporting artists trying to develop Houston's creative infrastructure, having a chance to exercise a greater level of support to the initiatives about which I care is thrilling," said Small.

The distillery will also be used as a venue space for non-profit organizations.

"I've also fallen in love with the spirits business in the past few years. This is a chance for me to do it all," said Small.
