HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A dramatic crash early this morning left a driver dead and a home in northwest Harris County heavily damaged.
Investigators say around 2:30am, a car drove through a stop sign at Rocville and Marble Mount and plowed into the house at the T-intersection.
The car quickly erupted into flames and soon caught the rest the house on fire as well. Firefighters were able to arrive fairly quickly and keep the flames from spreading to other nearby homes.
Neighbors describe hearing a loud crash and then watching the flames singe the home and nearby trees.
Fortunately, the homeowners are currently out of town on vacation. However investigators say there is a deceased person. They believe that person is the driver of the vehicle. At this point, they cannot discern whether the deceased is a man or a woman, or do they know the type of vehicle that was driven.
