Wallet may connect deadly stabbing suspect to assault
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Che Calhoun was involved in a fight with another person along the light rail line Monday night. He was even tased by a METRO officer but got away.

According to METRO, when officers tried to stop the fight between Calhoun and that other person, Calhoun allegedly became aggressive with METRO PD so they tased him not once but twice.
As officers were trying to handcuff Calhoun he managed to get up and run off.
Metro called HPD and searched wtih police dogs but could not find him. However, Calhoun left behind a bag with his ID in it.
After the stabbing Tuesday, HPD showed that ID to witnesses who saw the stabbing and the aftermath from several different angles.
Detectives say Che Calhoun, 31, fatally stabbed sixth grader Jose Flores to death on Tuesday as he walked home from school in north Houston.

Meantime, Calhoun has not made his first appearance in front of a judge yet, but court documents detail what happened from those who saw the stabbing.
One witness told police that he was on his porch when he saw 31-year-old Che Calhoun walk toward 11-year-old Josue Flores.
The witness says Calhoun came into contact with the boy. The boy started screaming and struggling with Calhoun and then the witness saw Calhoun run off.

Another witness says he heard the screaming, went outside and saw Calhoun running away and Flores bleeding on the ground. That witness tried to chase Calhoun down in his car but lost sight of Calhoun.
A third witness says he was outside and saw Calhoun run past his home.
Couple all those accounts with the witness we spoke to who alleges Calhoun threw Flores to the ground then ran away after the boy started bleeding.
Che Calhoun has not yet appeared before a judge.
We are told he is being held for evaluation, basically that means the medical staff is trying to make sure Calhoun will not be a danger to himself or anyone else during court proceedings.
That could take up to 48 hours, after that an attorney will be appointed to represent Calhoun if he cannot be brought to court.
