A teen dies following a two-vehicle accident in Liberty

LIBERTY COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- It was an accident that changed many lives. Now a teen injured in the Liberty County crash has died.

On May 5, two Jeeps collided on 146 in Liberty County near the Polk County line. DPS says the driver of a black Jeep turned into the path of a red Jeep. Thirteen-year-old John Real died at the hospital Saturday morning. His little brother, Joey, is still in a hospital bed.

Teen friend and neighbor Krista Rozell describes John as a cowboy who loved horses. She says she will miss him every day.

Gerald Potts, 21, a passenger in the black Jeep died the day of the accident. The driver of the black Jeep, James Dean Shaw, is believed to be at fault, according to DPS. He has not been charged.

Mindy Beth Richardson, an expectant mom, was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. She was driving the red Jeep.
