Suspected drunk driver blamed for 2 crashes in northwest Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two accidents last night are being blamed on one suspected drunk driver in northwest Houston.

Police say a woman who was behind the wheel of a now burned-up red car side-swiped a driver on Shepherd near Pinemont around midnight.

Three people were in the vehicle the woman hit and two were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

However, instead of stopping after the accident, police say she kept going and didn't halt until she slammed into a tree near 34th Street.

The force of that accident flipped the woman's vehicle and the woman flew out of her vehicle, just as it burst into flames.

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
