HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A police chase came to a violent and destructive end early this morning in southeast Houston.

Police spotted a car going about 80 miles per hour on Lenore at Bliss around 1:30am. Authorities tried to pull the driver over, but he took off, eventually losing control. The car hit two parked cars before slamming into a tree.

Emergency crews had to use the Jaws of Life to pry the driver and two male passengers out of the car.

All of them are in the hospital in serious condition, but are expected to survive. No one else was hurt.

Police charged the driver -- who was driving his mom's car -- with evading arrest.
