Man shot outside northwest Houston apartment complex

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man is recovering in the hospital after being shot in northwest Houston today.

It happened along Arlington near the West Loop shortly after 5pm. Police say two men wearing either hoodies or ski masks approached the victim. The victim tried to take off on foot, but was shot while trying to get away.

The victim fell on the sidewalk, just feet from traffic. He survived and was taken to Memorial Hermann Northwest, where he was taken into surgery.

The suspects remain on the run.
