CONROE, TX -- A man was rescued on Lake Conroe after his boat started taking on water.
According to Pct. 1 Constable Captain Rusty Fincher, the man faced five-foot waves as severe weather blew through the area, causing his boat to rock back and forth and take on water. He wound up on the north side of the long FM 1097 bridge near Bentwater.
Rescue boats deployed but were unable to reach the man due to the lake conditions. First responders then directed the man to climb up the shore to safety, where paramedics checked and cleared him.
