Man killed in apparent road rage incident in N Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man died early Saturday after being shot in what police describe as a possible road rage incident.



It happened near the intersection of Gulf Bank and 45. Police collected shell casings and say it appears there was an AK-47 style firearm involved.



The SUV swerved after the driver was hit and t ended up crashing into a ditch near Sweetwater.



The driver got out and collapsed before dying at the scene. Witnesses stopped to help including Cindy Valderas who was on her way to work.



"When you see somebody slip away like that and all you are doing is following instructions from 911. it seems like it took forever," Valderas said.



There was a passenger in the SUV. Police said he told officers the gunman was purposefully aiming at him and the driver.



No arrests have been been made and police continue to investigate.
