Man jumps from second floor of burning apartments in SW Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man jumped out of his second floor apartment to escape a fire in southwest Houston Friday afternoon.

It happened at the complex in the 11000 block of Meadow Pines Court near West Bellfort.

Eyewitnesses sent us photos of flames shooting from windows of that complex. Firefighters say the man was cooking and something caught on fire.

Flames blocked the man's front door so he jumped off his balcony to safety.

He has a cut hand and possible burns on his face. Four apartments are destroyed.
