HOUSTON (KTRK) -- It's quiet the day before the 2015 Chevron Houston Marathon Finish Line.

Marathon organizers spent the day setting up and plan to continue preparations deep into the night.

"Our volunteers are amazing. We'll have over 7,000 volunteers, many of them who are going to be working throughout the night with final preparation, making sure start line corrals are ready to go," said Wade Morehead, the Executive director of the Houston Marathon Committee

But come Sunday morning, hearts will pound in rhythm.

With feet on pavement as 25,000 runners race through this 26.2 mile route.

As with many runner's events after the 2013 boston marathan bombing, security has been heightened, and this year is no different.

"We're going to have hundreds of officers working this," said Captain Larry Satterwhite of HPD Special Operations. "It'll be a very heavy presence, a very visible presence for us, as we make sure this is a very safe event for everybody."

"We encourage all spectators, participants and volunteers -- if they see something, say something," said Morehead. "There's hundreds of uniforms, HPD police officers on the course, please let them know if you see anything at all."

But with strong security, hopefully the only thing to see will be the runners, each with a different story.

The marathon starts at 7 in the morning, and is expected to bring 65,000 visitors to our proud city.
