Police: Galveston boy, 4, expected to survive after shooting self in head

GALVESTON (KTRK) -- A young boy is expected to survive after accidentally shooting himself in the head, say police.

It happened on Friday at around 2:45pm inside a home in the 2200 block of 37th Street.

Galveston police and EMS immediately began treating the child before transporting him to the John Sealy Emergency Room at UTMB.

The child's condition at this time, but investigators say it appears the bullet grazed his skull.

The investigation is in the early stages. So far, no charges have been filed.
