FULSHEAR, TX (KTRK) -- In the tiny town of Fulshear, an intersection is causing a huge problem.
The stop signs the four way stop on South Fry and Flewellen Oaks aren't new, yet people keep ignoring them.
"They're simply not doing it," said Captain Mike McCoy with the Fulshear Police Department. "They're just going through the stop sign and not even slowing down."
Captain McCoy says the problem could become even more dangerous once hundreds of children begin using a crosswalk to get to the new Randolph Elementary School next month.
"I just felt like we needed something positive," said Fulshear Officer Jen Cavillo.
So Officer Cavillo decided to try a different approach to the problem.
"Just something I thought of because it's a Sunday and it's hot outside. We live in Texas so I thought a sundae on Sunday would be very rewarding for being safe," she said.
She called it Super Safe Sunday Sundae.
As dash cam video shows, on Sunday, Officer Cavillo pulled over ten drivers who came to a full and complete stop-and rewarded them with a $5 gift card to McDonald's that she bought with her own money.

"I think that's amazing," said resident Sherri Wardinsky. "A public servant doesn't make that much money and for them to take their money and to do something like that, I think is really surprising ."
Not surprised is her boss.
"She's just got a great heart and a good soul," said McCoy.
A good soul that believes positive reinforcement and an old fashioned sundae are a good start to making the community safe.
