Fire burns through popular Getto Burger Restaurant

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A popular soul food restaurant in northwest Harris County will be closed for repairs following an early morning fire.

Firefighters were called to the "Getto Burger Restaurant" in the 8700 block of Antoine around midnight. When they arrived, they found heavy smoke pouring out from the restaurant.

Crews went inside and found the kitchen on fire. Firefighters put out the flames, but not before they did a ton of damage to the kitchen. There is also smoke and water damage to the dining area.

No one was inside the restaurant at the time of the fire. The place had closed around 11:00pm.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
