Fire breaks out at First Ward art gallery

Fire at art gallery near downtown
Firefighters quickly put out flames at an art gallery west of downtown early this morning

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Firefighters were called out to a building full of art galleries in the First Ward Arts District early this morning.

The building on Summer Street near Taylor caught fire around 3:30am. Heavy smoke poured out from the building when firefighters arrived. The flames were contained to a cubicle. They were able to put it out quickly.

Arson investigators are trying to discover what started the fire.
