HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A father and daughter were hospitalized after two armed men walked into their home in northeast Houston and opened fire.

The shooting happened around 11:20pm at 5123 Ola Street.

Harris County Sheriff's deputies say there were two children inside the home when the shots rang out. They were not injured.

The father was able to make it out onto the driveway where he collapsed just as the two men stole the family's Cadillac Escalade.

Their vehicle was set on fire and found by police at an underpass near the home a short time later.

A neighbor told abc13 he called 911 after hearing the gun shots.

"I just happened to be outside with my girlfriend just talking, and we hear three rapid shots," he said. "I came out to investigate and we saw a young man down on the driveway."

Both victims survived their injuries and are being treated at Ben Taub Hospital.

The shooting suspects are on the run, deputies say. A motive for the shooting is unknown.
