HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A combination of speed and slick roads may have sent an 18-wheeler crashing into a guard rail in west Houston.
Houston police say the accident happened around 1am on the Katy Freeway westbound at 1-45 North Freeway.
Crews are still working to clean this up.
Officers say the driver of the 18-wheeler lost control, slammed through the guard rail and ended up in the HOV lane.
The driver only had minor injuries, and did not go to the hospital.
Multiple lanes of the Katy Freeway are now shutdown as first responders work to clear the accident. The HOV lane into downtown from I-10 is closed, and the exit from Milam from I-10 East is also closed.
The 18-wheeler was carrying a load of clothes.
