1 dead after after chase ends in crash in west Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A suspect is in custody after a high-speed chase ended in a crash Sunday night in west Houston.

The chase, which involved Harris County Precinct 5 Constables, ended on the Katy Freeway service road near Echo Lane.

According to authorities, the suspect crashed into another car during the chase.

Investigators confirmed that a person from that vehicle has died.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital.

No other details have been released.
