NEW CANEY, TX -- Transportation employees in New Caney Independent School District received hands-on training Tuesday as volunteers enacted "live-threat" scenarios - everything from a driver being threatened with a weapon to combative parents.
The training was conducted by Gray Ram Tactical, LLC - a consulting company that specializes in emergency situation response.
"It's very important for our drivers," Judy Pickens, an area director for NCISD transportation said. "We do a lot of training with our drivers here. I think it will help them in the future if anything like this happens, God forbid. We hope not, but you never know nowadays and what's going to happen with our students, so I think it really was a good deal for our drivers to go do this."
