HOUSTON (KTRK) -- There are several movie theaters around town that offer deep discounts and even free showings during the summer.
Santikos Free Summer Movie Series
Santikos Theatres has a 10- week Free Summer Movie Series, providing parents, caregivers and children with free movies every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. This free event is open to the public on a first come, first served basis. The free movies will be shown at the Silverado IMAX and the Palladium AVX. Free tickets are available at the box office the morning of the show. At the concession stands, there are $4 discounted kids pack, which includes a kids popcorn and drink with Teddy Grahams.

Premiere Cinemas Summer Kids Fest
Premiere Cinemas in Tomball offers free admission to two screenings on Wednesdays during the summer. Each movie will be shown at 8:30 a.m. and again at 11:30 a.m. for nine weeks.

The 2014 Summer Movie Express runs for nine weeks with select titles playing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. throughout the summer. Admission to these films during the Summer Movie Express is only $1 and a portion of the proceeds goes to the Will Rogers Institute. The two Houston area locations are Edwards Houston Marq'e Stadium 23 & IMAX and the Regal West Oaks Mall Stadium 14 & RPX.

Get a pass of 10 movie tickets for $5 or pay $1 at the box office for each movie. There are several locations in the Houston area to choose from. Movie selections and showtimes vary at each location.
There's also a coupon for $1 a snack pack at the concession stands when you look up movie listings online.
Choose your own ticket price of $1 to $3 at Alamo Drafthouse Kids Camp and buy your tickets online to reserve your seats in advance. The theaters donate 100 percent of ticket sales to local nonprofits.
