Houston's Mexican Consulate opens new headquarters in Westchase area

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Mexican Consulate opened its new headquarters in southwest Houston today.

The new building is located on Richmond, in the Westchase area.

The building offers better accessibility with its own parking lot and a nearby Metro bus stop.

There is no word yet on what will happen to the old consulate building on Caroline Street in Midtown.

The move is part of a deal to swap land and make way for a highway project.
