HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A man with an assault-style rifle shot four men outside a market Tuesday evening in Acres Homes, police said.
Houston police responded to the shooting outside Danny's Seafood Market in the 900 block of West Little York around 6:15 p.m.
Commander James Bryant said a group of people were standing on the side of the store when a sedan, possibly a Chevy Impala, drove up and stopped.
One passenger carrying what Bryant described as an assault-style rifle got out and unloaded more than 10 rounds.
"[The shooter] fired several rounds at the people standing outdoors and hit four male victims who, at this time, are at the hospital. Two are stable and two are in critical condition," Bryant said.
Relatives of the victims, like Gracie Jackson, rushed to the scene.
"I'm praying that my grand kids make it. I'm praying they'll make it, because they're really innocent bystanders. They didn't have anything to do with it," Jackson told ABC13.
Houston police said the motive of the shooting is unknown and an investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, on Jan. 3, there was a fatal shooting on the same corner.
"Too much violence," added Jackson. "They're taking their lives like it's something to play with, and it's somebody's life."
