HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man is in jail facing charges after police say they caught him stealing from the Macy's at Almeda Mall in southeast Houston.
Police say the man went into the Macy's during regular business hours and then hid somewhere inside the store. He waited for employees to lock the doors behind them for the night.
As soon as everyone left, the suspect emerged from his hiding spot and began "shopping." He set off the burglar alarm in the process.
HPD responded and sent in a K-9 unit. The dog found the suspect hiding in a clothing rack and took a few bites out of his leg.
He's now in police custody facing burglary and theft charges.
