Latest updates: Disney Upfront presentation reveals new FX, Hulu series and more

Two new series were announced at the 2026 Disney Upfront: "The Shards" for FX and "Count My Lies" for Hulu.

"The Shards," featuring Homer Gere and Igby Rigney is a thriller set in Los Angeles in the '80s, co-created by Ryan Murphy and Bret Easton Ellis.

Shailene Woodley, Kit Harrington and Lindsay Lohan appeared on stage to introduce their new show, "Count My Lies," which follows a nanny to a couple, as dangerous secrets begin to unravel.

Faceless dancers brought the drama while clips from Ryan Murphy's "American Horror Story" played at the Disney Upfront, ahead of a surprising cast member announcement.

The FX series surprised fans by revealing that Paul Anthony Kelly, fresh from his breakout performance as JFK Jr. in Ryan Murphy's hit limited series, "Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette," has joined the cast of the 13th installment of the anthology series.

The reveal came as "AHS" fan-favorite cast members - Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Billie Lourd and Emma Roberts - were onstage, flanked by hooded Druids.

Kelly emerged from the shadows to reveal his addition to the cast, adding "I guess every nightmare needs fresh blood...and thirteen's my lucky number."

"American Horror Story" installment 13 is coming this fall to FX and Hulu.

Avengers, assemble! At the 2026 Disney Upfront, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Hiddleston and Paul Bettany reunited on stage.

"Loki" star Hiddleston spoke about his experience with the National Geographic/Disney+ documentary series,"Surviving Pompeii with Tom Hiddleston," while Bettany treated the audience to an exclusive look at his upcoming miniseries, "VisionQuest," coming to Disney+ on Oct. 14.

A sneak peek at Season 2 of "Star Wars: Ahsoka" was shown at the 2026 Disney Upfront.

In a video message, Sigourney Weaver spoke to the audience, announcing that "Avatar: Fire and Ash" will come to Disney+ on June 24.

She later introduced "Ahsoka" star Rosario Dawson to the stage, before a sizzle reel from the new season played.
