Deadline to register for Harvey aid through Red Cross set for today

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Time is running out to register for monetary aid distributed to those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Tuesday, Oct. 10 is the last day that anyone who lives in a county ravaged by the storm can register for $400 in emergency assistance from the American Red Cross.

The nonprofit organization says registrants will have to qualify to receive the funds.

Assistance will be issued per household and any additional applications will be denied, according to the Red Cross.

Residents in 39 counties, including Harris, Fort Bend, Galveston, Wharton and Chambers, can register for aid. You can register on the Red Cross website here.
