A rapper who was part of Floyd Mayweather's crew, "The Money Team," was one of two people found dead in an apparent murder-suicide at the Palazzo apartments.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- A rapper who was part of Floyd Mayweather's crew, "The Money Team," and his TV star wife were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide at the Palazzo apartments in Los Angeles Monday.

Authorities say an LAPD SWAT team responded to the apartment complex at Park La Brea in the 300 block of Hauser Boulevard at about 7:30 a.m. Officers heard shots fired and a woman screaming, according to police.

The initial investigation revealed that 34-year-old Earl Warren Hayes shot his wife, 30-year-old VH1 star Stephanie Elyse Moseley, to death and then took his own life, the LAPD said. Hayes and Moseley were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Burrel Wilks, Hayes' friend and life coach, called the rapper a "very caring and sharing gentleman." Wilks says he worked to keep Hayes' mind, body and soul strong.

"He was a great lyricist, as well as a writer. He's worked with the best -- Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Alicia Keys, Pussycat Dolls," Wilks said.

Though Wilks says he had heard rumors of infidelity in the couple's relationship, he added, "This incident, I can't say what that was about."

Police said a weapon was recovered at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

A VH1 representative released a statement about the incident:

"We are incredibly saddened to hear the news of the passing of Stephanie Moseley. VH1 and the entire 'Hit The Floor' family send our thoughts and condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time."
