11 people rescued from sinking boat on Lake Conroe

LAKE CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- A group of boaters had to be rescued by deputy constables after forgetting to put in the bilge plug on their 21-foot boat.

There were 11 people on board the speedboat when it started sinking in Lake Conroe Saturday. Deputies responded and told the driver to try to make it to a marina.

However, they stopped when a third boat arrived. The passengers were helped to shore.

No one was hurt. The boat was towed in.
