Katy couple pulls off awesome holiday surprise for friend

KATY, TX (KTRK) -- It was a special act of kindness just in time for the holidays.

A woman named Debbie lost her husband last year, and a couple of her friends were afraid she would be alone for Christmas. So without telling her, the couple bought a plane ticket for Debbie's daughter, Brittany, to fly from Nebraska to Houston to surprise her mom.

They even went to the Costco in Katy where she works and asked managers to give her the week off so she could spend time with her daughter.
