Inmate who escaped Houston County Jail back in custody

TRINITY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- An escaped inmate is back behind bars after being captured overnight in Trinity County.

Video surfaced of 55-year-old Bobby Eugene Wood in the back of a patrol car.

Wood escaped from the Houston County Jail in Crockett on Monday.

Authorities had to expand their search to Walker and Montgomery Counties.

Wood was originally in custody for engaging in organized criminal activity.
