Men accused of running illegal men's health clinic

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two men are being charged with unlawful practice of medicine and delivery of a controlled substance for allegedly running an unlicensed erectile dysfunction clinic on Richmond Ave called Men's Health Centers.

This was the result of an undercover operation by Houston police and the FDA. One of the suspects, Randy Herrera, is out on bond but the owner of the clinic, Kenneth Ulishney, 60, is currently at the Harris County Sheriff's Office Jail.

On Monday, walk-in patients were stunned to find out the clinic was unlicensed and had been shut down.

"Something goes wrong and you know, it's our life," said a patient, who wished to remain anonymous, to Eyewitness News.

The patient told us the clinic charged $300 for a consultation and $30 for a testosterone injection.

"I'm surprised...everything looks like it's a real clinic," said the anonymous patient. "It had a good website advertisement on the web, so anybody can think...it's real and good to go."

Ulishney appeared in court with his defense attorney Monday morning

"The unlawful practice is a third-degree felony. The delivery is a state jail felony," said Marc Fleming, Ulishney's attorney. "We will be awaiting production of evidence from the state so we can review the case and take appropriate action."

The DA's office said the two have no medical background and that the unlicensed clinic was allegedly supplying patients with pills and administering injections.

Businesses owners neighboring the clinic said they were surprised by Ulishney's arrest because he had always seemed to be by-the-book and very professional.
