Humble man arrested for injury to child

HUMBLE, TX -- Humble Police officers arrested a 41-year-old man on a felony charge of injury to a child after police say he reportedly slapped a child younger than 15 years of age.

Tony LaMoore Nelson faces a felony charge of injury to a child after Humble PD was called to the 800 block of Wilson Road for an assault around 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20.

"When officers arrived at the location, they spoke with Nelson, a family member and their daughter who was the victim in this incident," HPD Detective Sergeant Mike Flynt said. "Family members stated that Nelson had returned home and was reportedly intoxicated when he started yelling and fighting with the people at the residence. At some point, Nelson slapped the victim, who is under 15 years of age, after they attempted to intervene in the altercation."

According to Flynt, officers on scene observed the victim's face had some swelling and red marks where Nelson had allegedly slapped the victim.
