Truck accident forces partial shutdown on I-10 East
A heavy truck struck two bridges near the Waco Street bridge, forcing some westbound lanes to be shut down

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A heavy truck carrying machinery hit two bridges in east Houston this morning.

Around 11:30am, authorities say the driver in the oversize rig hit the Waco Street Bridge and a railroad bridge. The trucker stopped after hitting the second bridge.

As a result, Interstate 10 was partially shut down westbound at Waco Street. The accident is now clear.

Authorities are expecting the situation to continue until about 3:30pm while they clear that vehicle from the roadway.

There are no reported injuries.

The bridges are now being inspected for safety by the Texas Department of Transportation.
